FBI TARGETS LEONARD PELTIER
The FBI contracted with Sue VeldKamp to host a web site with petition for the stated purpose to deny parole or executive clemency to Leonard Peltier. Per Agent Ed Woods the information posted there is posted at his direction.
This is the part of a series of FBI attempts to malign both
AIM and Leonard Peltier and derail any efforts to obtain a fair hearing
or parole review.
As per FBI documents (one, two,
three)
this has been ongoing for almost three decades.
June 26th, 2000 Jennifer Harbury, an attorney with the LPDC, filed AN ETHICS COMPLAINT for an investigation of the Justice Department involvements on Pine Ridge and interference with guaranteed consitutional rights which have negatively impacted Leonard's ability to receive fair and impartial hearings.
July 10, Senator Ben Night Horse Campbell wrote President Clinton urging ACTION on the Clemency petition
July 2000, under pressure, the FBI released a largely erronious compilation of file information on the unsolved/uninvestigated deaths on Pine Ridge from 1973-1976, with the statement "an investigation is unecessary".
On December 15, 2000 the FBI staged a several hundred man/woman {COVERAGE
} march in front of the White House protesting the possible clemency of
Leonard Peltier
