Khwe (Greetings),
For those of you unfamiliar with the Huron feasts, the Green Corn Fest is celebrated the first Sunday in August. This past weekend there were celebrations in Midland, Ontario at the Huronia Museum with dancing , singing, and demonstrations. I attended the Green Corn Fest here in Michigan on Grosse Isle. Descendants of the families who resided here during the removal still live on what was village property. A delegation attended from the Huron Reserve Wendake in Quebec.
The Huron History (courtesy of the First Nation Site), Newsletters and selected other writings is available in booklet form. Send inquiries to: ishgooda@tdi.net
If any on our list have news from their locations concerning the Huron/Wendat people, please send this for inclusion in our newsletter.

UPDATE from Wendake, Quebec:
The court date for Moose Hunting out of season, hotly contested by the traditional people as the concept is contrary to the Murray Treaty, has been moved to 1997.
