9-21-98To Whom it May Concern,
Thank you with all our voices for your involved concern. We are working to achieve our goals. Organization and optimism are more evident and we intend to push ahead to meet the challenge of being a recognized Tribe once again.
We are very relieved to know that other Native Tribes are of such kinship as to hold the Wyandot of Anderdon by their side again. This has been a step in the right direction for us, as recognition has been an on-going battle for many generations in our Families, as in all Wyandot Clans.
With the help of the Great Native friendship and spiritually guided principals, we may again see the Wyandot nation rise from ashes to take our place around the Council Fires once more.
We have been working with the Longhouse Natives from Wendake, Quebec. Annette Vincent and Michel Gros Louis have been working diligently in preserving our rights and tradition in the hop to see the rebirth of Anderdon. Our third petition to Canadian Department Indian Affairs is being prepared by Diane Siroka and will soon be presented to Ottawa.
We would be requesting a letter of support to help us with our position. A Canadian Band with our Reservation restored in both the US and Canada. We have started this with Wendake and with the statement we produced at the 9-15-98 D.E.Q. hearing in Gibraltar, Michigan on the Humbug Marsh Grave Yard issue.
Transcripts on the project ( permit # 98-10-0328) are available at:

Overwhelming support came forward to oppose the full scale development of the area once known as Brownstown.
Our families ha ve only started to search deeply to find our real Indian Heritage and Values. Our Band is as if coming from a long sleep to awaken to a new sense of tradition, long since forgotten, however, still inside Us and now closer with Our reach. With our Wyandot brothers and sisters and all of the Michigan Indian Community and the many Canadian Indian Bands. We are looking forward to what the future may hold.
