We have just received a letter from the Court of Quebec. They have written that they have again postponed our hearing to another time. This time they have set it for June. It appears, harassment from the Government of Quebec continues toward native people.....
But, we got a good news yesterday. Someone told us, that eight Micmac won a case in Court last December. They were charged for illegal salmon fishing in 1989. Their case was similar to ours. Those Micmac contested an agreement between the province and the band council. The agreement did not respect the right of the Micmac according to the traditional people. The province has asked for an appeal on this case.
