Thank you for your reply ........
The answer to your question of "where the Wyandotte will get the money to build a casino?" is a simple one: They will borrow it. The Tribe needs to generate revenue to provide governmental, health, and educational, health, and educational programs to its members. I'm willing to bet that you didn't know that the Tribe's Preschool Program was voted one of the best in Indian Country, or that the Bearskin Health Clinic is an outstanding healthcare facility. Unfortunately, when Tribes don't have a money-making business, they can't borrow money to build schools, clinics, roads, etc.
The Tribe has commitments to borrow the money to build any casino in Kansas City it wants. The Tribe has a detailed plan on how it will spend the money it makes from its casino, and that plan will be posted on the Tribe's new website, "WyandotteNation.com", which will be operational shortly.

Khwe,
I am acquainted with many of the programs which are to Chief Bearskin's credit. One cannot take from what he has done to benefit his people. I have heard many in this area from the Anderdon Band, from the Absentee Wyandot as well as Wendake praise the good that has been done...he is much loved.
I think perhaps this is what cuts so deeply with this action against all of our people. My ancestor died in the westward migration of our people from Michigan and Ohio to Indian Country in the 1840's..the bodies of those who rest in this cemetery are my blood Cousins...
We have been forced by the US government into brother against brother dog eat dog situations. It is time..more than time to stand and say.."You are my Blood..what can I do to help you? What do you need?" AS a people...not I am federally recognized and have the legal right to do this thing.
We are adopting the ways of "the worshippers of gold" (wish I could spell the words given me by the traditional chief of the longhouse from Wendake in our language..OUR language)...and this is killing us as A PEOPLE..
So...I ask you my Cousin...of Oklahoma..AND my Cousin YOU of Kansas..and my Cousin...YOU of Anderdon...and my Cousin YOU of Wendake...what can we do to help meet the needs of OUR people as ONE community?
In Spirit,
Ishgooda
