Khwe all,
Have a question from the gentleman below...Do any of you have an answer for him? If you do would you share it with us?
The history of the westward migration of our people in the early 1800's took us from Ohio, Northern Indiana, and Michigan and southern Ontario to Kansas and some eventually on to Oklahoma. More specific information on this movement or earlier migrations, I am not familiar with.
Thanks for any history you have for us.

I acquired the rights to the Wyandotte trail in Indiana several years ago. Maybe you can answer some questions for me. In an early trail brochure, Chief Lawrence E. Zane claimed that Wyandotte Cave was used for many years for Council Ceremonies. Is this true? Also, did your tribe ever reside in the far south part of Indiana. I did extensive research many years ago, and all I could document was the Shawnee nation. There is also some historical data the cave may have been named after a nearby creek called "windot" in the 1790's. Any help on these questions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bill Schulze.
