I KNOW WHY THE CAGED LION ROARS
 LIFE BEHIND BARS
Two conflicting, but perhaps not, so conflicting FEARS alternate..one, that he will die behind these walls..the second that he will have to return if he is ever released as he will be totally unsuited to function outside...Perhaps, death of one's humanity is the worse alternative, to feel powerless against the unending rage fomented by a system that treats humans with less respect than animals.
It is not just the loss of freedom..it is the feeling that humanity is slipping away..that he is slowly forced to become an animal in order to survive..he asks what kind of man will they be releasing??

***Reminder and Caution:It is common for prisoners to be moved abruptly. If your correspondent suddenly quits writing, don't assume it's by choice. Inquire about his or her location and situation -- often the prison chaplain can help you with this. If you know a prisoner on our list has been moved, please let us know. Also, if your correspondent requests that you send him or her anything, particularly ceremonial items, check the prison to ensure the requested items are not contraband. Sometimes items of religious significance that are ordinarily banned may be given to the prisoner by the chaplain.
